9th Annual Team Matthew Luis Fundraiser for PMSF

On March 11, 2026, the Castillo family of Miami, Florida, held their 9th Annual #TeamMatthewLuis Dinner and Silent Auction Fundraiser at John Martin’s Irish Pub. The fundraiser was a resounding success, raising more than $21,000, with additional donations still rolling in!

Martha and Carlos Castillo fundraise in honor of their 13-year-old son, Matthew Luis. “He is very loved by his parents and twin brother, as well as all of his teachers and therapists. He is also loved and supported by many friends and family members whom we are proud to call Team Matthew Luis,” says Martha.

With support from all over, the fundraiser featured auction items including VIP tickets to a Miami Heat basketball game, a Marco Island getaway, a photography session from Enmanuel Photography, and more. While bidders could participate from anywhere through the online silent auction, the in-person event featured a dinner and additional gift baskets available for bidding.

During the event, Martha gave a speech highlighting her family’s journey with Phelan-McDermid syndrome, the support they have received from the Foundation, the promise of future treatments and a cure, and the research efforts led by PMSF. Thank you, Martha, for all that you do!
