We are excited to release updates to our Pharmacologic Recommendations, which were recently finalized by our Phelan-McDermid Syndrome Neuropsychiatric Consultation Group (PMS-NCG).

The Pharmacological Recommendations for the Management of Phelan-McDermid syndrome describe treatment suggestions for individuals who have Phelan-McDermid syndrome and also carry a diagnosis of ADHD, Sleep Disturbance, Irritability and Aggression, Mood Cycling, and/or Catatonia.

Please note that these are recommendations that are meant to be used as a guide for your child’s medical team as they make decisions about managing your child’s care. Parents and caregivers may share these recommendations with their healthcare providers.  Medical professionals may refer to these algorithms when designing a care plan for their Phelan-McDermid syndrome patients. You and your child’s team know your child best.
