Kate Still PhD

PMSF Welcomes Scientific Director, Kate Still, PhD

We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Kate Still to our team as our full-time scientific director. Kate was interviewed by a number of board members, advisors, staff, and parents. The feedback was superlative.

Kate started on June 14th. She holds a Ph.D. from University of Virginia in Biomedical Sciences ( Neuroscience).

Kate worked as a researcher at the NIH, and has about eight years of biomedical research under her belt. She is currently the Program Manager for Scientific Communications at the University of Virginia. She has written federal grants, communicated with industry collaborators, and edits communications to ensure presentations are understood by broad audiences. She moonlights as a freelance science writer, currently writing about neuroimmunology and helping with fellowship documents, websites, and donor communication.

Kate will become the principal investigator for our registry, will lead and coordinate the Scientific Advisory Committee, assist with communications on current research and recruitment for clinical trials, as well as broadening our work and relationships with external stakeholders to accelerate research. She will be involved in several projects that are underway at the Foundation and will also be involved with the DSC study.

This is a major milestone and we want to again thank all of you who have held fundraisers and made donations. This would not have happened without you.
